Last year, the Insights team at Wild Card conducted a study that researched the science behind the craft of worldbuilding in entertainment. Through their exploration, they published a whitepaper - “Worldbuilding: Answering the Engagement Problem”.
This new research inspired the team to create a video that offers fresh insights and tips for marketers looking to break into the world of gaming and why they should apply these findings to their own brands/ products.
I was tasked with developing the visual identity of the video and accompanying social assets. The main goal was to make the information easily digestible as well as attention grabbing/ feed stopping. We were inspired by the retro “Nintendo Power Line” which was a hotline in the 80s that gamers could call into to get tips to help them navigate their favorite games. The final look-and-feel merged old-school and contemporary gaming; complete with textures, glowing colors, and glassy overlays. Gamified sounds and animation tied it all together beautifully.
